BACK FROM THE DEAD

The original Le Macabre coffee bar was open during London’s rockin’ 1950s and 60s. Located at 23 Meard Street in Soho, Le Macabre was at the center of London's espresso revolution, and just a stone's throw from the birthplace of British rock 'n' roll (2i’s). Frequented by ghoulish hipsters, beatniks, and rock ’n’ roll legends, The Telegraph crowned Le Macabre 'the weirdest and most wonderful coffeehouse to appear in London since the 18th century'. With skulls for ashtrays and coffins for chairs, Le Macabre was known for its gothic, morbid theme. Its slogan: Your Coffee Off a Coffin.

Le Macabre is still owned and operated by the same family that ran the original coffee bar in the 50s and 60s. Our mission is to bring Le Macabre back from the dead, so you can enjoy and experience London’s most legendary horror-themed coffeehouse.
